Here in Vienna there is more daylight every day and Spring is knocking on City’s door. Also a sign of freedom has appeared. Since March 1st in Vienna there is no compulsory mask wearing when using public transport. For quite some time people have not been wearing masks on the street and it was quite strenuous to suddenly wear masks when entering public transport vehicles and stations. Yesterday I took subway line 3, there were many people on the train but nobody wore a mask. How long we did not have that situation! But I could not fully enjoy it from my heart because I am still somewhat apprehensive about infection. I think it will be some time before I can freely use public transport without such thoughts.

　ここウィーンは日毎に明るくなり、街に春が訪れを告げているようです。開放的な出来事も起こりました。3月1日からウィーンの公共交通機関でのマスク着用義務が解除になったのです。街中でマスクを着けなくてもよい状態になって久しいのですが、公共機関を利用する度に急いでマスクを着用しなければならないのは結構しんどかったです。昨日、私は地下鉄の3番で出掛けましたが、割りにたくさん乗客がいるにも拘らず、誰一人マスクを着けていませんでした。どれほど長い間、目にしない光景だったことでしょう！しかし、私は手放しでこの状態を喜ぶ気持ちになれませんでした。なぜなら、心の片隅に常に感染への恐怖が巣くっているからです。心の底から気持ち良く公共機関を利用できるようになるまで、まだなかなか時間がかかりそうです。

During a walk in Vienna, by chance I found a music instrument manufacturing shop. Double basses (Kontrabass) are produced here. Here in Vienna it is interesting because such diecoveries can be made. Then I think that Vienna deserves the title “city of music”. During dark and cold Winter days, the shop’s light lured me closer and in my head I heard funny double bass sounds warminf my heart.

　ウィーンの街を散歩していて、偶然、楽器工房を見つけました。コントラバスを製造しているようです。ここ、ウィーンでは、このように興味深い発見をすることがよくあり、流石に「音楽の都」と呼ばれるだけあるなあ、と実感します。暗くて寒い冬の日に、工房の明るい光が私を招いてくれました。そして私の頭の中では、愉快なコントラバスが響き、心が暖められるようでした。

Right now when you visit Museumsquartier after dark, you will be amazed! Fantastic light show will be displayed. These lights move with different shapes and colours. It is indescribable! I can only say that you have to see it for yourself.

　現在、暗くなってからMQ広場を訪れた人は感動的に驚くことでしょう。素晴らしい光のショーを見ることができるからです。これらの光は色も形も次々と変容し、動いていきます。凄い！の一言です。是非、ご自分の目でご覧になって、としか言えません。

Christmas market at Spittelberg was opened yesterday! I think it is one of the very first markets to open this year in Vienna. My husband and I went there. There was not too much of a crowd but filled with a joyful atmosphere.

昨日、シュピッテルベルクのクリスマス市が開きました！多分、この冬、ウィーンで一番早く開いた市の一つだと思います。早速、夫と二人で行ってきました。まだ、人はそれほど出ていませんでしたが、楽しい雰囲気に包まれていました。

Recently the days become much shorter every day and dusk begins very early here in Vienna. I have a feeling that when it is so dark, activities are somewhat restricted. But thankfully in the city there are beautiful lights and I do not feel so lonely. Going for a walk in the dark is not so bad after all.

　日に日に暮れるのが早くなっていくウィーンのこのごろです。暗くなると、行動に制限がかかるような気がしていました。しかし、街の灯りが美しいので、あまり寂しくありません。夜の散歩も悪くないと思います。

Summer time has ended and suddenly it feels like the day may be shorter. My husband and I took a late afternoon stroll from Hofburg to MQ square. Evening twilight came and also fog descended on the city. Here you can see some pictures.

　サマータイムが終わり、急に日が短くなったように感じます。夫と私は遅い午後、王宮からMQ広場に向けて散歩をしました。夕暮れが深くなっていき、霧が街にうっすらとかかりました。その時の写真を載せます。

Many products at flower shops in Vienna already look a lot like Winter. Wreaths displayed in front of the shops remind us that even Advent is coming soon. Christmas styled plants are also here!

　ウィーンのお花屋さんは、もう、すっかり冬支度となりました。店先に並べられたリースは、すでにアドヴェント（クリスマス前の期間）を想い出させます。クリスマスらしい植物も、お目見えです！

At the beginning of October after a long time, my husband and I visited Italy again. Our voice teacher of classical music lives in Piemonte province. This time it was again very instructive as well as impactful and we are very grateful. Also the weather was quite beautiful and we could really enjoy our time there. The sun was still very strong and during daytime it was even hot with clean air and beautiful nature. We wanted to stay longer.

10月の初めに、久しぶりに夫と私はイタリアを訪ねました。私達の声楽の先生がピエモンテ州に住んでいらっしゃるのです。今回のレッスンも大変良い勉強になり、実り多かったと感謝しています。お天気も綺麗で、良い滞在ができました。陽の光がまだまだ強く、日中は暑いくらいでした。綺麗な空気と美しい自然も楽しめました。もっと長く滞在したいと思いました。

It has gotten much cooler here in Vienna. Going out, a jacket is necessary now. Already under chestnut trees I can find fallen nuts. Every year it is a great pleasure for me to collect some of those, I like to take them home, use them as table decoration and look at them. They provide pleasure for some days.

ここ、ウィーンは、すでにずいぶん気温が低くなりました。外出には上着が必要です。カスタニエの木の辺りでは、はや、落ちている実を見つけることができます。私は、毎年、この実を集めるのを大きな楽しみとしています。そして、家に持って帰り、机の上に置いて眺めるのがとても好きです。数日間は楽しむことができます。
